Caregiving can be complex when siblings and family members disagree. How do you manage entrenched roles and unique family dynamics? There are elements you can have in place to make the process easier. Conversations about financial, legal, and end-of-life matters in advance can offer families peace and confidence in the middle of uncertainties. Furthermore, if you are a long-distance caregiver, you are not alone. Being a long-distance caregiver has unique challenges that will require you to maximize available local and out-of-area resources and use technology to your advantage.
In this presentation with Gail Arno, Director of Care Management at Elder Care Management, learn valuable strategies for developing a plan and bridging the distance between you and your family, including how to:
-hold a family meeting
-evaluate your loved one’s current living situation
-communicate and collaborate with the doctor
-identify resources to inform and support your care plan
