Welcome Wisdom

New Year… it’s 2020

Thank you for your steadfast support of Elder Care Management and embracing the idea that the vulnerable in our community deserve an advocate to represent them in challenging times. This coming March will mark the tenth anniversary of the founding of our company, an exciting milestone and marker of a journey that has taken our team on paths that we could not have dreamed of.

With such milestones often comes change. It is with a full heart that I am announcing that I am stepping away from the role as owner of Elder Care Management and entrusting the company to a new owner. From the beginning, I wanted to establish a workplace that not only honored our clients, but created a collaborative work environment that nurtured relationships. Our staff is dedicated to supporting their clients and each other and my vision has been achieved, and then some. It is now time to hand over the reins to allow for more opportunity and growth, and after much searching, I found the right hands to leave part of my heart with.

Jason Wu, owner of Apex Care, has seen our passion and embraced the concept of providing exceptional care management services to Northern California. Jason has a strong business background and a kind heart. He has degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Northwestern University. He has owned a local home care agency since 2016 and is passionate about serving the elderly. As his company has expanded, he has looked for other opportunities to work at the highest level of care the industry has to offer, leading him to Elder Care Management. His philosophy on running a business aligns with mine: honor your client and honor your employees. I strongly believe he will move Elder Care Management into the new decade with the same enthusiasm and dedication we have shown for the past ten years.

Our team will remain the same. There will be no change in service to our clients. We will be working out of the same office with the same phone number. I will be assisting Jason and our team over the next several months to ensure that the transition goes smoothly and welcome the opportunity to introduce him to you.

I cannot tell you how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to create and collaborate with such an amazing group of coworkers, clients, and community. You have brought me joy in so many ways and emboldened my vision that each and every one of us is entitled to age in a dignified way with a professional advocate beside us.

Thank you again for your trust in us- we will not let you down.

I am both excited and honored to have this opportunity to lead Elder Care Management into 2020 and beyond.  Over the last decade, Ginger has built a stellar team of professionals with an impeccable reputation for serving our most challenging and at-risk seniors.  The positive impact that this team has had on our older adult community has helped the company become a part of the fabric of our senior community.  As the new owner of the company, my goal is to continue to build upon the solid foundation that Ginger has already created.

Over the last four years, I have owned and managed ApexCare, a local home care agency serving Northern California.  This experience has helped me become intimately familiar with the complex challenges that many of our older adults and families face each day.  Because my grandmother suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, I have also experienced firsthand the time and fatigue that is required to care for someone with Dementia.  These experiences have enabled me to truly understand the importance and appreciate the work that Elder Care Management provides to our community.  Geriatric Care Management is such a critical part of the service continuum for so many families and I am committed to ensuring that we are the absolute best organization for providing this service.

Going forward, I am very proud to announce that Gail Arno will be assuming the day-to-day leadership of the company as the new Director of Care Management.  Gail has been working with older adults since 1998 and has been with Elder Care Management since 2010, when the company was founded.  She has been an integral part of the company from the very beginning and she will continue to ensure that the company maintains its unique culture and professional excellence.  In addition, the rest of our fantastic team is unchanged and will continue to work with our clients and partners in the same way that it always has.

I am grateful for this opportunity to work with you and I am looking forward to meeting you in the near future.  Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,  Jason Wu, Elder Care Management Owner
